CARLOFT – THE NEXT HOTEL IDEA

A German company called CarLoft presents an innovative way to solve nightmare parking problems, that can also would be good for people who are tired of having their wheels trashed or stolen. The idea in here, is that you drive your car in to a big lift, which then takes it up to your flat and you drive it out on to the balcony to park.  A glass wall separates your elevated garage from your living quarters yet still allows for friends and family to appreciate your wheels (if they expensive and beautiful).  Plans are underway to have CarLoft living spaces built in such European cities as Berlin, Frankfurt and Hamburg, among others. The lofts, which range in size from 2,411 sq ft to 5,802 sq ft, start at EUR 450,600 ($536,844 US).

This could be good here in the Philippines, especially here in the greater manila region with the scarcity of parking spaces plus the terror of having your car being ripped-off by thieves.  Here in the Philippines, maybe most of third-world countries, 4 lane roads tend to be a 2 after cars park on the sides of the street and sidewalk because there is no parking space near their destination.  Because of this, heavy traffic occurs, people and bicycles ten to use the road while walking.  Again this could be good but having to place that lift integrated in the buildings would need a lot of money thus expensive shelter which most of its population could not afford.

BADGES

SIDE THOUGHTS

  • Overcoming fights starts with forgiveness. All of us have faults and all of us hurt others sometimes. This is human, and holding grudges only hurts the one who holds it.

  • Jesus apparition on a frying pan.  Recently, Toby Elles from Lancaster, England and a 22-year-old brilliantly left the stove on after he was done cooking and after he took a quick boozey-snoozey, he realized his error and rushed to the stove.  Lo and behold, there was Jesus Christ, looking back at him with burnt eye of grease from the frying pan.

  • Love isn’t a fairytale, it isn’t perfect, and it doesn’t always come easy. But it is something that we should hold on to for the rest of our lives, because it’s the only thing that’s worth fighting for.

  • Hero: someone we admire. Someone we look up to. Someone who gives us hope. Not a myth, or an icon, or a legend- someone solid, genuine and real. An ordinary person who does extraordinary things. A hero picks us up when we are down. Believes in us before we believe in ourselves. Inspires us to expand and embrace what’s possible. Helps us realize that we can be heroes, too - Kobi Yamada

  • Devil’s Pool - a small lagoon, enclosed by rocks, on the edge of one of the biggest, most beautiful waterfalls in the world, Victoria Falls. Set on Livingstone Island, at a height of 103 meters, Devil’s Pool is definitely one of the most surreal locations on Earth
