FLEXIBILITY OF DESIGN
filed in DESIGN on Oct.21, 2009
Design could be as flexible as possible. It could have one form or mass or media but it could have several outputs or feel. In Architecture for example, you could have several layout of rooms or floor plan but you only have one floor area and similar length and width or workaround space. You could also have one floor plan but have several façade. Below is an example of two different façade but having similar room layout or floor plan.

If you will notice, the difference between the two is the form, size, and location of windows, and the finishes used. Flexibility of design does not end there. Colors also play an important role in the overall look of the project for they portray a distinct feel or theme for the project. If you will look at the images, you will see that we have one façade with different color schemes. You could always used the color scheme that you want and it will always work as long as they match but to those viewing it, there will be different reaction on feel and theme depending on the color that you have chosen.

Also, you could take into consideration the kind of finishing material that you will use. Look at the two similar façade with different stone accents. What would the façade look like if the stone accents are of the round type? Well the finishing materials use on structures will definitely have a major impact on the look of the structure.

It still does not end there. In color, you could still change it’s hues to make a more personalized design. Just see the difference between the color light brown and mocha color scheme. And the process goes on and on just run your imagination and you will see that the possibilities are endless.
