images 21 I WANT A HOUSE BUILT ON STEEL AND GLASSIf I were to build my own house, I would wanted to build it with combination of steel and glass or if not I would prefer a simple house looking like a warehouse but would have great interiors in it. I have this thing over metal buildings and I have not seen that much many type of houses here in the Philippines. Usually we would see concrete types of houses with windows with them. There might be a lot of factors why most residents here would not want the steel and glass combination of houses and these maybe:

  1. Budget – Steel might be expensive against concrete
  2. Earthquake – steel might be not durable against it (but I doubt this one, for a great structural engineer could make the house stable on even strong earthquakes.
  3. Security – house theft is a common thing on residential areas here in the Philippines and having big windows with grilles would not look good on steel and glass combinations.
  4. Ventilation – while others would prefer bigger windows without frames but for me I would accept frames as to give natural ventilation inside the house.
  5. Climate – with a lot exchange of sun and rain in the Philippines, the steel could be vulnerable to rust.

So why do I love this kind of house? Well it is simple – it is clean, it is simple, it is beautiful, and looks spacious (considering the types of lots you will get here in the Philippines), could be rustic and combined with modern stuff, modern yet timeless, and a lot of other great factors that would take a lot of page to mention.

I know there must be a way to design such a house that would answer to the factors I have given above.  Well, I still have to save money to construct and design the kind of house I wanted.   Have a great day.
