TUSCAN EASE – BUNGALOW INTERIOR DESIGN INSPIRATION
The floor plan above is to be converted into a model house somewhere in Laguna by a real estate developer. The floor plan have a 56 sq. meter floor area, 3 bedroom, 1 T&B, kitchen, living area, dining area, service area, and lanai.
Before we go any further, I have been posting the past few weeks model houses fro interior inspirations like model house Hana, Sundara, and this random interior inspiration from three model house but few may think what are model houses anyway?
Model houses are visual and tangible medium of communication and a showcase our design intents and aspirations for our valued costumers, model houses are very effective sales and marketing tools. The model house, with its designed and fully furnished interior and landscaped lot, shows the different design potentials of our houses and allow the different viewers to relate to the spaces and aid the buyers in identifying as to what house will their specific lifestyle suit.
Every model house built needed a storyline or terms of reference as the main background or concept of the model house to be built. As for this bungalow the terms of reference is as follows:
Profile of Woman of the House: MOMPRENEUR
Age: 30-35 years old
Occupation: OWNS AN ONLINE STORE OF GIFT IDEAS.
Interests/hobbies: Aside from the usual home-making activities like cooking, gardening and various housekeeping, she is a bookworm who enjoys making gift ideas which she sells online.
Resides with: – 7 years old son, studying & 5 years old son, studying
Additional information: - husband working abroad as Seaman- the mom chose to become a mompreneur to take care of her kids while making income. Mom have close relationship with her sons. Mom have close relationship with her sons.
With these terms of reference. GMM Designs here in the Philippines has come up with a final floor plan below and color scheme to be used. The main consideration here are accessibility and security. Being a working at home mom with two kids to look up every second is a difficult task. Here GMM Designs have properly redesigned spaces not totally renewing them but add finishes to make sure that work and kids can be access and secured. Here are the things done to achieve the concept.
- See-through glass was provided between master’s bedroom and kid’s bedroom.
- The bedroom 1 was converted into a guest/office room.
- Sliding door was provided between bedroom 1 and kid’s room.
- Swivel TV was used for the living room and guest/office room.
These considerations was the main reason why these design was accepted. The mother can see his kids in every room and every side of the house. She could work while the kids are watching tv in their bedroom from the swivel TV in the living room. At night, she could see immediately her kids if she hear some noise.
All other considerations were secondary like the following:
- The floor finish in the T&B…(wow)…see gallery…
- The unobstructed view in the living, dining and kitchen (looks bigger)
- Putting the refrigerator in a low wall divider to maximize space.

The image on the left was the color schemed used on the model house. There is one more color scheme presented but this looks unique and not common. The designer called this color scheme Tuscan Ease.
If you will see the final product, you will say that the color scheme was definitely used properly. It constructed the image of simplicity yet elegant in its own way.
Images below are samples of the final product of the interior design. If you wanna see the whole final product, visit the gallery.
One thing that made this bungalow stand and adds coziness in it is the addition of the window shutters. You could open the shutters easily and it has that distinct aesthetic feel in it whether it is colored brown or white. I have been looking what type of shutter it is until i stumbled into Sunburst Shutters.
