LIFE GOES ON AFTER ONDOY AND PEPENG

It has been weeks now even months after the destruction brought about by the storm Ondoy and Pepeng but many areas are still flooded.  You have to admire people living in those area which are still flooded for they have to adopt to their environment and still continue life as if nothing is bothering them.

I  have colleagues who have to rent a place even though their house and all their stuffs have been destroyed by the storm.  Just imagine the financial situation they are handling right now.  I have colleagues who still have floods in their area and have to either walk through it with the foul smell or take a customize boat that have a very inconsiderable fare price just to get into the other side.  Below are some people who you just have to admire..

The stories mention above are really heart moving but what will you feel if your read an article that saying Foreign Relief goods stuck in DSWD Warehouse and their explanation to this is that  there are no volunteers.  Department of Social Welfare and Development is a branch of a government and this being their reason is for me bullshit.. anyway read portion of the article below which I got from pinoytumblr

Editor of Philippine News: Why are the relief goods in DSWD warehouses not moving?

DSWD Secretary Esperanza Cabral: Wala kasing volunteers.

This short interview was done over the phone. Philippine News wanted to hear her side pero ayaw niyang makipag-usap sa press. After four tries, pinasabi na lang niya ang maikling sagot na ito sa secretary niya – “Walang volunteers”. (via Jenni Epperson)

You could ask for help in the media to broadcast your concern… I just remembered this qoute…”If you want it, there are many ways to do it but if you do not want it, you will have all the reasons in the world not to do it.”

Have a nice day… LOL…

SIDE THOUGHTS

  • Love isn’t a fairytale, it isn’t perfect, and it doesn’t always come easy. But it is something that we should hold on to for the rest of our lives, because it’s the only thing that’s worth fighting for.

  • Hero: someone we admire. Someone we look up to. Someone who gives us hope. Not a myth, or an icon, or a legend- someone solid, genuine and real. An ordinary person who does extraordinary things. A hero picks us up when we are down. Believes in us before we believe in ourselves. Inspires us to expand and embrace what’s possible. Helps us realize that we can be heroes, too - Kobi Yamada

  • Devil’s Pool - a small lagoon, enclosed by rocks, on the edge of one of the biggest, most beautiful waterfalls in the world, Victoria Falls. Set on Livingstone Island, at a height of 103 meters, Devil’s Pool is definitely one of the most surreal locations on Earth

  • Enchanted Well or Poco Encantado.  Located in Chapada Diamantina National Park in Brazil.  - This giant sunken pool is 120 feet deep and the water is so transparent the rocks and ancient tree trunks are visible on the bottom. Access to this pond is highly controlled for environmental protection of its rare and delicate ecosystem.

  • I don’t believe in fate or destiny. I believe in various degrees of hatred, paranoia, and abandonment. However much of that gets heaped upon you doesn’t matter - it’s only a matter of how much you can take and what it does to you — Henry Rollins
