PAST PRESENT ONDOY RANTS

I live in cainta, but we are on the higher portion of the area. We were not directly affected by Ondoy but was inderctly affected. We do not have electricity, water, internet and communications including mobile networks. We cannot get anywhere because of right to left floods outside the village. The golf course had turn into a lake with perimeter walls crushed by rolling water from the mountains. Roads below us are flooded up to knee high with fast current downstream which does not happen everytime there is a storm. You could see children playing and diving over the this fast stream of rainwater not knowing that other places are already in danger because of the rain they are enjoying. We too did not know what is happening outside the village and we are just there living but not doing anything… a moment where you just have to sit and wait.
The night was pitch black even in Antipolo You could only hear rain and wind. It was a deafening silence… you can now hear the ticking of the clock… as you hear it… time seems to be longer… as if you are counting not sheep but ticks of the clock… until boredom winds… I use to say to anyone who is sleepy – “your eyes are geyting heayvy, your eyes are geyting sleeypy… ba be bi bo bu… hahahahaha..
I just mumble words.. hehehe… its been weeks since I posted something… and this articles and the words above have been sitting in my draft for two weeks now. So just let those words above and below be… Below are images captured from the storm Ondoy.
Ondoy… according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Ketsana dropped 455 mm (17.9 in) of rain on Metro Manila in a span of 24 hours on Saturday – the most in 42 years. A month’s worth of rainfall in a single day washed away homes and flooded large areas, stranding thousands on rooftops in the city and elsewhere… inothernews
In my thoughts, all floods have subsided but when I passed through Marieta Village in Cainta and some parts of Marikina, I saw that not all have clean their surroundings and some are still flooded and some are still waist deep and with foul odor and garbage. A friend told me that their place in Taytay is still flooded and he has to walk on it everyday to get into office. Another friend told me that their place in Pasig is still waist deep and they have to ride a custom-built boat made from styro-foam with mineral water container as floater and that a ride in this is worth 20 pesos per person.
The image above is shot at De Castro in Ortigas Extension, Pasig. I always passed through this section everyday when going to work and this is the first time I saw this area being flooded and at this height. I have experience walking in flood and that was 2 or 3 years ago but that was in Cainta and still Ortigas Extension… woooaa… the government must do something about the drainage for this stretch… When I saw the rubber boat, A friend from Marikina was telling his story that in order for his family to get safe he has to pay the rubber boat owner 2,500 pesos for one ride… he says that the rubber boat was a private one.. but but but… that was when the rain is at its worst… and yet people have to take advantage of people.. it is fine to pay something but at that much and seeing people that needed help… &%$#@#%… well my friend just said, it is better to see your love ones safe than not doing anything about it even it is worth more than that…

Well this video is dangerous, even if the electricity is cut off by the typhoon, we still do not know if there is a live line. In addition to that, is that the place is flooded and it is raining but yet people still climb and walk into the lines of electricity. Photo from saabmagalona:

At last I have finished this article… I have been busy with the couple of weeks and in addition with it is the typhoon Ondoy… I am getting my rhythm in blogging back to normal.. I hope this post will give it back.. have a nice day…
