blackberryonrice USE RICE FOR SOAKED GADGETS

I just remembered, a two weeks ago, we are about to eat lunch at Mcdonalds but it was raining hard so we have to ran across the street to reach our destination when somebody bumped my shoulder wherein I was holding my E61 Nokia phone. The next incident was that my phone dropped on the hard concrete road and started rolling into the paddle of water. I said SHIT….. I picked up my phone and see if it is okay. It was okay at the moment but when we got into mcdonalds, it was already off and I tried to power it, it would not. AWWWWW…. I tried to open it put it on the hand dryer…wooo it would not open. I just tried and tried until finally I made it work up to now I am still using my phone. I was lucky my phone was hard enough to resist all the drops and could resist water. But if any chance I would drop my phone again over a pool of water, I would simply turn it off and follow the information below:

Sure, you could meticulously disassemble and clean your water-logged gear, but why go to all the trouble when the help you’re looking for is right in your kitchen? Rice — not only is it nutritious and delicious, its absorbent nature can be harnessed to dry out your toilet-soaked gear.

A Washington Post reporter who accidentally dropped his Blackberry in the toilet was able to retrieve it and dry it out to working order again: by leaving it turned off in a bowl of uncooked rice. Reader Chris writes in to say:

“There’s a grain of truth (punny, huh?) to this in that rice quickly sucks up the surrounding moisture. Make sure the environment is free from excess humidity, drop the wet device in a container of rice and let it sit. For a better desiccant, it’d be a good idea to store all those little silica gel packets that come in anything from shoe boxes to moisture-sensitive gadgets.”
