WINDOWS 7 EXPERIENCE PART 1

Personally, I had a chance to hold on to a copy of the beta version of Windows 7 Ultimate and was excited to try it and experiment on it. My experiment started when backup my existing Windows XP using its built-in backup sofware. I did this on purpose thinking that when I recovered the whole backup my whole decent existing XP machine will be revive if everything did not go well. Sadly, it did not but I could run all my programs even though it is not found in the registry (or it is – the programs were not listed on the add and remove programs in the control panel). To continue, I formatted my whole hard drive and created another partition for my personal files. I installed Windows 7 and the installation was fast and easy. My hardwares and internet connection was detected automatically. “Wow.” This is my first impression when I first booted Windows 7. For a non-techie person like me the following are what I found out.
The interface is great. Nice navigation. Of course at first you wll have to browse on some things before you could finally know it. I have not tried Windows Vista so I do not know if it is more like Windows Vista but it is not so much different from Windows XP but you will see the difference.
The themes are great. The desktop effects are great. Try it to find it out. You could set your desktop background to change once in a while depending on your preference and it will change automatically. Luckily my Matrix screensaver works well with Windows 7.
Your images are no longer isolated in your My pictures in the My documents folder in XP as well as your videos and music. In Windows 7, you could set any folder to be your images folder or music folder or video folders and even how many folders you set it will be tag as pictures, video or music.
My applications for work are functioning properly except for some additinal side applications which are not compatible including my previous anti-virus now I am using AVG anti-previous now check Techspot for a complete list of compatible anti-virus programs.
Your opened windows will not clutter into the windows bar but will be placed in group and with preview of what are open which only means less clutter on your windows bar,
Windows Media 12 which means nicer media player which supports more codecs and if those are not yet complete for you download a compatible complete codec for Windows 7 from Shark007 and all will be fine.
Now you could burn your ISO images into your CDs or DVDs.
You could now easily look into ZIP files.
With these features only I am satisfied to run Windows 7 as my main OS but when I installed Cabal that is where my problem began. Check Part 2 of this post for more knowledge about this OS and more.
